Little Meโ€™sโ„ข, Ep. 2

Who can relate?? ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿผ When Traumatized Me โ€œtakes the wheel,โ€ it can be incredibly difficult to allow another little me to help, much less to remember that they exist! But by getting acquainted with each of your little meโ€™s, itโ€™s possible to become more aware of when one is missing. In the moments when you feel the frantic or frozen energy of Traumatized Me taking control, thatโ€™s your cue to take a breath, and call in the energy of another little me. Now, this may not be an easy task at first! It requires building awareness and lots of coping aheadโ€” that means, building up your arsenal of things that work for you in a crisis. Deep breathing, calming music, calming imagery, physical exercise, calling a friend, or using spirituality to get centered are just a few examples to reach for in a moment of panic. The bottom line is: trauma of all shapes and sizes lives in the body and can get reactivated at your most vulnerable moments. Though this is inevitable, it is not hopeless, especially when your other little me teammates are ready to step in to help restore balance.
